Semi Driver Takes Wild Ride Before Crashing And Bursting Into Flames

Last updated on Saturday, August 3, 2013

(GREENSBURG) - A tractor-trailer went airborne before crashing and bursting into flames on Interstate 74 in Greensburg Thursday, police confirmed.

The IndyChannel reports, the crash happened about 1:40 p.m. on I-74 near mile marker 132 when a semi lost control and catapulted into the air.

Indiana State Police said the driver, Ryan Young, 30, of Kentucky, swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle that drifted into his lane. Police said Young ran up a hill and through a guardrail before ramping off the U.S. 421 interchange. The impact of the crash tore off the truck's fuel thanks, causing the fire.

Young suffered some minor head injuries. His 7-year-old son, who was a passenger in the semi, had a few scratches. Both were taken to Decatur County Hospital for treatment.

The amazing video was captured by a dashcam in a nearby tractor-trailer.
