Portage Man Dies After Being Hit By Semi-Truck

Last updated on Thursday, August 29, 2013

(PORTAGE) - A Portage man was killed Wednesday after police say he unexpectedly pulled out in front of a semi-truck.

Marck A. Sulich, 44, was parked in a 2008 Honda along the outer shoulder of I-94 Wednesday morning when Bradley Goudman, 37, of Avilla, Ind., came upon him. Goudman was driving a 2006 Kenworth pulling a box trailer, leased to Grine Trucking out of Ney, Ohio.

Goudman told police he looked to change lanes from the right to the middle lane, and as he looked back Sulich entered into the right lane for unknown reasons and was struck.

Sulich was pronounced dead of massive blunt force trauma at the scene.

Police said Goudman was hauling approximately 36,000 pounds of milk and juice. He was not injured.

A reconstruction and investigation of the crash was initiated by Indiana State Police.
