(WEST TERRE HAUTE) - The first day of school for the Vigo County School Corporation unfortunately saw the districts first crash involving a school bus.
No students were riding when a van hit the school bus at the intersection of Third Street and National Avenue in West Terre Haute Monday.
There were multiple people inside the van, two of them were taken to area hospitals for injuries.
It's an early reminder to be aware with school in session and buses back on the road. Officials also report that sunlight may have been a factor in this crash as well.
