Muncie Woman Arrested After Charging Nearly $40,000 On Grandmother's Credit Card

Last updated on Tuesday, August 6, 2013

(MUNCIE) - Police say a Muncie woman faces preliminary theft charges after she allegedly used her 96-year-old grandmother’s credit card to make more nearly $40,000 in unauthorized purchases.

35-year-old Tiffany D. Green was arrested last week on three preliminary counts of theft.

The Star Press reports court documents say Green had been the primary care-giver for her grandmother, and used her Chase Bank card to make about $39,600 in purchases.

A probable cause affidavit says Green told police she had used the card for about three months to supply a morphine habit. She said she purchased shoes, clothing, gift cards, fireworks and other items to trade for morphine pills.
