Man Tells Woman He Killed Another Woman, Dumped Body In Morgan Co.

Last updated on Tuesday, August 27, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A tip Saturday led Indianapolis Metropolitan police officers to a body dumped in Morgan County.

Around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, police received information about a homicide that may have occurred on Thursday on the city's south side.

A woman told police she loaned her 2004 Gold Ford Taurus to an Indianapolis man and was told by the man that her vehicle was in a Hobby Lobby parking lot. He told her that he shot and killed a woman, 26, while she was in the front seat of the car.

Police found the car and sent it to a crime lab.

Police received a tip that there was a body in a remote area of Morgan County. The body was wrapped in a blanket, a report said.

The unidentified body was taken to the Marion County Morgue and an autopsy is pending and they are working on a positive id.

No arrests have been made as of Monday morning.

The coroner's office confirmed that the woman is related to an ongoing IMPD search for suspected murderer David Lawrence.

Lawrence is considered armed and dangerous, and may be in possession of a firearm, police said.

The woman's body was reportedly found in a remote area just off north Mann Road in Morgan County, just south of the Morgan-Marion County line.
