Last updated on Tuesday, August 27, 2013

(JOHNSON CO.) - An Indianapolis Metro Police sergeant is on administrative leave after Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested him for suspected DUI over the weekend.

It happened in the early hours of Saturday morning on State Road 37 near Olive Branch Road. A Johnson County sheriff's deputy clocked a motorcycle at 76 mph as it passed a semi, and also noticed the driver failed to signal before changing lanes.

The officer pulled over the motorcyclist, identified as IMPD Sgt. Gregory Scott, and noted that Scott had watery eyes, slurred speech and an odor of an alcohol on his breath. Gregory admitted to consuming alcohol that night. He also had trouble on a field sobriety test and struggled to keep his balance.

Sgt. Scott tested at .16% BAC after being taken to the Johnson County Jail.
