City Leaders Have Sights Set On Super Bowl LII

Last updated on Thursday, August 1, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Some city leaders have their sights set on hosting another Super Bowl. Indianapolis is considering a bid for the NFL’s big game in 2018. That would be Super Bowl LII (52).

WTHR reports, Allison Melangton with Indiana Sports Corp. played a big role in the city's last Super Bowl bidding and hosting process. She explained how the city will prepare.

"It's very competitive and we try to make sure we don't miss any clues along way on what other cities are going to be in and how we stack up against them," she said.

Indianapolis' success in hosting the 2012 game will be a strong factor as city leaders make their case to do it all again.

"This time we think actions speak louder than words. We've proved we could execute an exciting event at a high level and that should help us for 2018. We went for 2011 and 2012. We said, 'Trust us we can do this. Trust us. We've done a lot of events. Trust us; this is an amazing community with a lot of volunteers.' So if we move forward now, we can show that we've done that and so we're at an advantage more so than last time," she explained.
