(MUNCIE) - A central Indiana judge has set fall trial dates for a Muncie couple facing neglect charges in the death of a 5-year-old girl who was in their care.
Marcus Tabb, 53, and Charlene Tabb, 29, have been charged in the June 22 death of Tabb's 5-year-old cousin, Marie Pierre.
Prosecutors said the child was repeatedly beaten and at times attacked with tools at the couple's home.
Two of Charlene Tabb's relatives, a 14-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl, face aggravated battery charges in juvenile court over the girl's injuries.
The Star Press reported (http://tspne.ws/14FPtMl) that a Delaware Circuit Court judge scheduled a Nov. 4 trial date Monday for Marcus Tabb and set his bond set at $300,000.
Police said they found more than 80 abuse marks on Marie's body.
Charlene Tabb was ordered held on a $500,000 bond, pending a Dec. 9 trial date.
