(NEW CASTLE) - A joint investigation involving the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad, New Castle Police Department, the Henry County Drug Task Force and the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office led to the discovery of a mobile meth lab on a traffic stop late Wednesday evening.
As the Meth Suppression Squad was working an investigation on three subjects, New Castle Police Department stopped the vehicle they were in shortly after 10 p.m. for a traffic violation. The car, a green 1995 Toyota, pulled into the Kroger parking lot at Indiana Ave and Memorial Drive here in New Castle. New Castle K-9 Unit "Lex" arrived at the scene and indicated on the car.
A search of the vehicle turned up a meth lab in a duffle bag in the car. The driver, Bruce Schaadt, 46, of New Castle was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of precursors, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisances.
Also arrested was Tabatha Raley, 30, of New Castle, charged with the same charges as Schaadt. William Steiner, age 51 of New Castle, was also arrested at the scene and charged with maintaining a common muisance, as the car they were in belonged to him. All three were lodged in the Henry County Jail.
