Terre Haute Couple Accused Of Selling Psychedelic Mushrooms

(TERRE HAUTE) - An Indiana couple is facing drug charges alleging that they sold psychedelic mushrooms out of a recreational vehicle that was also carrying a young child.

Vigo County Drug Task Force officers arrested 36-year-old Michael Baughman and 27-year-old Mercy Ayaaba on Tuesday on preliminary charges of dealing a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance and neglect of a dependent.

The Tribune-Star reports (http://bit.ly/1atgRD1) that a Vigo County judge scheduled a Monday hearing for the couple and set their bail at $50,000 each.

Terre Haute police Detective Sgt. Doug Bensinger testified in court Wednesday that officers who stopped the couple's RV for a traffic infraction found four pounds of psychedelic mushrooms inside, along with three pounds of liquid marijuana.

A toddler with the couple was taken into custody by Child Protective Services.
