(UNDATED) - There's a new plan to redistribute the $3 dollars that some people donate to politicians on their income tax returns.
Indiana Congresswoman Susan Brooks wants to spend it instead on research into diseases that affect kids.
Her bill would eliminate the check-off box on federal tax returns that provides funds for Presidential campaigns and national conventions. She says taxpayer dollars aren't needed by the conventions and the political campaigns.
Brooks says campaigns didn't even use the funding in this last Presidential cycle.
Brooks toured Riley Hospital for Children on Monday to promote her bill.
