(HANCOCK COUNTY) - A Henry County man turned himself in to police after allegedly fleeing the scene of an early morning crash.
Police say 20-year-old Travis Snyder of Henry County turned himself in around 7:00 am. He is being held on a warrant from a previous charge and has not been charged in Thursday morning's accident yet.
It happened near US 40 and County Road 525 West overnight. Three teenage girls were injured in the crash and taken to Hancock Regional Hospital.
The vehicle flipped into a utility pole, knocking out power to homes in the area at approximately 3:30 am.
According to Sgt. Robert Harris of the Hancock County Sheriff's Department, the girls were all taken to the hospital as a precaution and their injuries did not appear to be serious.
Harris said investigators have not determined what caused the vehicle to lose control and crash.
Police say the driver, believed to be Snyder, was wanted on a burglary warrant, and has a relative living near the scene of the crash. They believe the suspect fled into a nearby corn field because a police dog tracked his scent there. A search of the relative's house turned up nothing.
