Man Dies In Accident At Tell City Foundry

(TELL CITY) - Authorities say an Owensboro man died in an accident at the Waupaca Foundry in Tell City this weekend.

WFIE reports, the Perry County Coroner confirms that the man killed was 45-year-old Bobby Felty, of Owensboro, KY.

According to Indiana State Police Public Information Trooper Chad Dicks, preliminary information revealed that Felty, was working inside the foundry in Cupola Furnace #2 when the decking he was standing on gave way. Felty fell approximately 55 feet and landed on a concrete floor.

First responders working at the foundry responded immediately and Perry County EMS was dispatched however Felty was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, Felty was not wearing any type of safety device at the time of the fall.

Felty was an onsite contractor working for Stewart Industrial of Owensboro, KY.

The coroner says an autopsy to being conducted and the cause of death should be known soon.
