(SELLERSBURG) - A southern Indiana man accused of confronting police with a samurai sword during a standoff at his home faces initial charges of strangulation and battery stemming from a domestic dispute.

Roy Hisle, 56, also faces disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement charges. He's being held on a $10,000 bond and was expected to be formally arraigned Wednesday in Clark Circuit Court.

Sellersburg Police Chief Russ Whelan told The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., ( ) that Hisle was arrested early Monday after a nearly five-hour standoff that began Sunday night.

Whelan said Hisle confronted officers with a samurai sword as they arrived at his home. He refused to comply with police orders and was eventually subdued with a stun gun by members of a SWAT team who entered his home.
