(GEORGETOWN) - A Southern Indiana man was killed Monday night after a motorcycle crash in Georgetown.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Edwardsville-Galena Road in Floyd County.

Police said 44-year-old James Lone was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe head trauma when the motorcycle he was driving left the road, collided with a guardrail and hit two utility poles.

Investigators also said they believe speed may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
