Gov. Mike Pence Posted New Facebook Policy

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana Gov. Mike Pence posted a new Facebook policy on his government website this week.

The policy was established in response to critics who had their messages deleted from his Facebook page because they took a position on same sex marriage in opposition to his. Pence apologized for the removal and promised to develop the new policy.

The policy states that the governor's office is "not responsible for content generated by users." It prohibits "profanity, vulgarity, nudity, defamation of character, advertising, or political campaigning."

The policy also urges users to be civil and says that "larger discussions of political views and philosophies may be addressed elsewhere."
