(EVANSVILLE) - A plea deal is off the table for an Evansville woman accused in the murder of her ex-husband.

WFIE reports, 23-year-old Megan Mecum appeared upset in court on Friday when the judge granted the prosecution's request to withdraw that plea agreement.

Mecum was initially charged with murder, armed robbery and burglary among other counts after her ex-husband, Keith Vaughn, died of stab wounds in March 2012.

This past January, the state offered Mecum a plea deal which she accepted in exchange for her cooperation in the cases against two co-defendants. With that plea, she plead guilty to a lesser charge of conspiracy to commit robbery resulting in serious bodily injury. The other charges were dropped.

A few months later, the state filed a request to vacate that deal because they believed Mecum was providing inconsistent statements when providing information.

Now that the plea deal is off the table, Mecum once again faces numerous charges, including murder. Her trial date should be set next week.

Mecum's two co-defendants, James Levi Mayhugh and Hubert Cook Mayhugh, also remain in the Vanderburgh County Jail awaiting their trials.
