(MARION) - The tragic, unexpected death of an Indiana Sheriff's Deputy has left a community in mourning.

49-year-old Michael Andry was a deputy with the Grant County Sheriff's Department. He died July 12th after a pick-up truck turned into the path of his motorcycle in Elwood. A passenger was also injured. The 26-year-old driver of the truck was treated and released.

Grant County Commissioner Mark Bardsley was a life-long friend and remembers Andry as a "good fellow, who did great work. "
