Wet Weather Good For Firework Displays

Last updated on Wednesday, July 3, 2013

(UNDATED) - This looks like a much better year to celebrate Independence Day with fireworks.

Drought conditions forced many Indiana counties to postpone or cancel fireworks displays last summer. With all the rain, it's a different story for Thursday.

Indiana State Fire Marshal Jim Greeson says Indiana fireworks laws remain the same.

He urges Hoosiers to always follow general fireworks safety guidelines, especially when it comes to kids. Children ages 10-14 are the most at risk from fireworks. They may seem harmless, but Greeson says sparklers and small firecrackers cause the most fireworks-related injuries.
