(INDIANAPOLIS) - An attorney for convicted double murderer Sarah Pender is seeking Pender’s release from prison.
Pender and her boyfriend, Richard Hull, were convicted of murdering their two roommates in 2000 over a drug deal in a home south of downtown Indianapolis.
Cara Wieneke says she's taken the first step in overturning Pender's 110 year sentence. Pender believes that a "snitch list" from main witness, Floyd Pennington, was never given to her defense team and she is calling into question the integrity of his testimony.
Pennington testified that Pender confessed to him that she got her boyfriend, Richard Hull, to pull the trigger. Hull admitted that he pulled the trigger and that Pender knew nothing of the murders.
As for Pender's escape from prison and her four months on the run, Wieneke says Pender has already served more than enough years in prison to cover that charge.
Wieneke says she's working Clarke Campbell in the Marion County Prosecutor's office on Pender's case. There is no timetable on when the Prosecutor's office will respond.
