Last updated on Sunday, July 21, 2013

(GREENWOOD) - A team of more than 200 women will conduct the first female-only Habitat for Humanity build this fall in Johnson County.

The Daily Journal reports organizers have lined up 240 women to participate. They've also recruited 12 team leaders from local businesses and groups to help with fundraising.

The women are training now to learn to the skills they'll need for the project. Representatives from a local Lowe's store give basic information on construction during Saturday training sessions.

The house recipient will receive a 20-year, interest-free mortgage and will be responsible for monthly mortgage payments, which typically come out to about $350 per month.
