Woman Arrested After Abducting Newborn

Last updated on Saturday, June 22, 2013

(MUNCIE) - Muncie Police have arrested a woman who allegedly attempted to abduct a three-week-old girl.

Police say 34-year-old Judith Walker, who is part owner of Affordable Pest Control in Muncie, went to a home on a follow up inspection. Our news gathering partners at RTV6 report Walker wrapped a cord around the homeowner's neck and demanded her baby. The mother fought Walker off and went to a neighbor's house and Walker fled the scene.

It was the third time Walker had been at the home this month and the inspection Friday was not scheduled, leading police to believe the abduction attempt was premeditated.

Acting on a tip, police arrested Walker in Anderson Friday night. She will be transported back to Muncie.
