Police Investigate Elderly Woman's Drowning Death

Last updated on Wednesday, June 5, 2013

(NOBLESVILLE) - Authorities in Hamilton County are investigating the apparent drowning death of an elderly woman Tuesday.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call from the grandson of 76-year-old Marylyn Webb. They say Webb's grandson found her floating in a pool at her home on Mill Farm Road in Noblesville.

The grandson told police he was at the house to help her clean the pool. He told authorities that when he couldn't reach her at the front door, he went around back and found her floating in the pool.

Authorities do not suspect foul play at the scene and say there are no signs of trauma. They think Webb may have begun working on the pool on her own and somehow slipped in. However, an autopsy is pending.
