One Sullivan Teen Dead, Two Injured After Train-Car Accident

(SULLIVAN) - One Sullivan County teenager is dead after a Friday night accident involving a train and an SUV.

WTHI reports that Sullivan City Police officers were called to the scene of the accident at Depot Street railroad crossing in Sullivan around 10:15 p.m.

Police say a 16-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at Sullivan County Community Hospital by Coroner Jeff Griffith.

One 15-year-old passenger was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after being thrown from the vehicle. The 17-year-old driver was also transported to Methodist Hospital. Their conditions have not yet been reported.

At this time, names are not being released as this accident is still under investigation by the Sullivan City Police Department.
