Last updated on Friday, June 21, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A former Eli Lilly and Co. chairman and a top Indiana Pacers executive have been named to the Indiana University Board of Trustees.

Gov. Mike Pence's office announced Thursday he had appointed retired Lilly executive Randall Tobias and Pacers Sports and Entertainment president Jim Morris to three-year terms on the IU board. Pence also re-appointed Lilly chief financial officer Derica Rice to the board.

Tobias led the Indianapolis-based drugmaker in the 1990s. He was head of the Bush administration's foreign aid programs until resigning in 2007 after being linked to a Washington call-girl ring.

Morris is a former Lilly Endowment president and was director of the United Nations World Food Programme from 2002 to 2007.

Pence named medical student Janice Farlow of Indianapolis to a two-year term as student trustee.
