Connersville Works To Sell Factory For $1

Last updated on Wednesday, June 26, 2013

(CONNERSVILLE) - Connersville’s city council and redevelopment commission approved resolutions Monday night giving the company three months to decide whether to finalize the agreement.

Mayor Leonard Urban tells the Connersville News-Examiner the company would have at least 309 workers at the factory in five years to buy it for $1.

The factory has been vacant since auto parts maker Visteon closed in 2007 and was where Carbon Motors had planned to build high-tech police cars until its plans fell apart last year.

Attorney Rick Hall tells the Palladium-Item that the Minnesota-based cabinet maker would spend $12 million on improvements and equipment at the factory.
