Woman Killed After Crashing SUV Into Street Sweeper

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A woman is was killed after her SUV crashed into the back of a street sweeper in the 700 block of West 86th Street early Sunday morning.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the report of a vehicle crash.

Officers arrived and found a Ford Explorer had rear-ended a street sweeper and was badly damaged with the occupant trapped inside.

Indianapolis firefighters arrived and extracted the victim from the vehicle and IEMS crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The driver of the street sweeper was not injured.

At this time alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification to family by the Marion County Coroner's Office.
