Man Pleads Guilty To Death Caused By Bar Fight

(NEW CASTLE) - An eastern Indiana man is pleading guilty to criminal charges stemming from a bar fight in which a woman was paralyzed and died several months later.

Twenty-eight-year-old Floyd Cridge of New Castle changed his plea to a felony charge of criminal recklessness during a Henry County court hearing on Monday. He had faced a more serious charge of involuntary manslaughter stemming from the February 2010 fight outside Razzles bar.

Authorities say Cridge injured 23-year-old Andrea Kidd during that fight. The Courier-Times reports Kidd's aunt said her injuries left her paralyzed from the neck down before she died in May 2010 at a rehabilitation center.

Cridge faces a sentence of six months to three years in prison at a sentencing hearing scheduled for June 10.
