Greensburg Man Arrested For Beating, Raping Woman

Last updated on Wednesday, May 8, 2013

(GREENSBURG) - A Greensburg man was arrested Monday after police say he raped and beat a woman for days in her home in February.

The Greensburg Daily News says 55-year-old Dennis Clark beat and raped a woman in her own home over a course of three days. The brutal attack resulted in broken ribs, a punctured leg, black eyes, and loss of hearing in one of the woman's ears.

The victim initially blamed her injuries on a fall and scratches from her dog, but an exam ruled out this possibility. A sexual assault exam was not performed, as the attack was not reported until days later.

The woman told police she didn't remember much about the attack, only that it occurred in her bedroom and that the suspect made her wear a dog collar.

A neighbor told police she found the woman wearing a dog collar in the hallway outside her apartment.

In March, Clark told police he had gone to the woman's home on the day of the attack and found her on the floor, so her moved her to the bed. Clark says he told the woman he was going to call an ambulance, but she became angry, so he decided to not call for help.

Friday, formal charges were filed against Clark. He faces charges of criminal deviate conduct, aggravated battery, and criminal confinement.
