(UNDATED) - Federal spending reductions left many states-including Indiana, without money to operate Military Kids camps this year.
However, the Dunes Learning Center and the American Legion took on the task of raising the needed money to restore the program and the week-long camp will be held this summer at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
The camp supports youth affected by military deployment by connecting them to local community resources that can give them support when a loved one is deployed.
