(PERU) - Indiana State Police say two women face a total of 11 felony drug counts for allegedly conspiring to fraudulently obtain prescription painkillers from pharmacies in three northern Indiana counties.

Police said Tuesday 36-year-old Gypsy Shelton of Lagro used her job as a medical assistant in a Peru medical practice to call in prescriptions for a drug called Lortab using the names of family members and friends as patients. They say 23-year-old Emily Felton of Marion picked up the prescriptions in exchange for some of the drugs.

Shelton has bonded out of jail. She doesn't have a published telephone number and couldn't be reached for comment.

Felton was being held in the Wabash County Jail. Records there didn't indicate whether she has an attorney.
