(TERRE HAUTE) - Prosecutors charged a Terre Haute couple with 12 felony counts Wednesday, just days after the couple was arrested on allegations of sexual contact with a teenage girl.
Matthew and Jennifer Mahoney are accused of having sex in front of a 14-year-old girl who was visiting their home during the summer of 2012.
The couple is also accused of having sexual contact with the child, though they believe that contact ended quickly. Authorities believe Matthew Mahoney began having sexual contact with the girl between December 2012 and March 2013.
On Wednesday, prosecutors formally charged Matthew Mahoney with four counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, two counts of Child Solicitation and one count of Dissemination of Matter Harmful to a Minor. All seven charges are felonies.
Prosecutors also charged Jennifer Mahoney with two counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, one count of Vicarious Sexual Gratification and one count of Dissemination of Matter Harmful to a Minor. All of those counts are felonies.
Both are being held on $75,000 cash bond.
