Police Detain Four On Meth Suspicion

(FORT WAYNE) - Fort Wayne police are investigating a traffic stop that led to the discovery of items relating to the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Rod Hissong of WANE TV reports, according to police, the Walgreens on West Jefferson Boulevard called police late Wednesday night after individuals attempted to purchase several items related to making meth.

Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop near the McDonalds in the 5600 block of West Jefferson Blvd.

Officers spotted several suspicious items inside the vehicle. The items were later identified as precursors, which are items used to manufacture meth.

Police said the four occupants of the vehicle were detained for questioning.

Narcotics agents arrived to further investigate the items inside the vehicle. Police said no active meth labs were found in the vehicle.

Police have not released the names of those involved.

The incident remains under investigation.
