Officials: Woman Denies Hoarding After 21 Dogs Seized

Last updated on Saturday, April 27, 2013

(ALBANY) - An Indiana woman who had 21 dogs seized by local health and animal control officials says she is not a hoarder and accuses investigators of “taking my kids.”

Rosina Keller had 24 dogs in her home when officials removed all but three on April 8. Muncie Animal Shelter Director Phil Peckinpaugh calls Keller "a textbook hoarder" and says removal of the dogs was in the best interest of the owner and the animals.

Keller denies the accusations and says investigators mistook mud on the floor and walls of her home for feces. She says she took good care of the animals and that most had been spayed or neutered.

Many of the animals have already found new homes.

Keller plans to sell her property and move to Tennessee.
