(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indiana motorcycle gang member has been sentenced to life in prison for his part in a methamphetamine ring.

Federal prosecutors say Monday's sentencing of 47-year-old Phillip Mannebach of Terre Haute completes the dismantling of a drug operation which culminated in the convictions of 12 members or associates of the Sons of Silence motorcycle gang.

Mannebach also was convicted of charges he helped orchestrate the abduction of a person the gang believed had stolen $5,000 in drug money.

Prosecutors say the Terre Haute-based drug ring began operation in May 2010 and lasted until the arrests of most of its members in August 2011.

Officials say gang members abducted the alleged thief at gunpoint and placed him in a bathroom where he was bound with zipties until he escaped.
