Hoosier National Guard Soldiers Back Home

Last updated on Tuesday, April 9, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - After a long trip filled with numerous delays, several Hoosier National Guard soldiers are finally back home.

Jim Scott of WISH TV8 reports that nine members of the 5-19th Agribusiness Development Team were originally supposed to arrive home from Afghanistan Sunday morning.

But flight problems pushed that back to Monday night and then more delays meant an even later arrival.

Their home coming didn't come until early Tuesday morning. But it was still filled with hugs and kisses from waiting family members.

The soldiers got to spend about an hour with family before heading to Camp Atterbury for their demobilization.

The 5-19th spent the past year working with the Afghan government to improve agriculture like farming and forestry in that country.
