(FRANKLIN) - A 19-year-old Franklin College student was robbed at knifepoint Monday night on campus.

Franklin Police Department officials said it happened around 9:42 p.m. outside Dietz Center.

The woman reported that she stepped outside the southeast door of the residence hall to make a phone call when the suspect punched her in the face, shoved her against a wall and put a knife to her throat. He took her wallet but said nothing.

A moment after the robbery, a car pulled into a nearby parking lot. The suspect dropped the wallet and ran east.

The woman was treated and released from Johnson Memorial Hospital. She suffered abrasions on her neck and stomach along with a swollen right eye.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-20s to early 30s who was 5-foot-10 and had a dark goatee. He was wearing dark pants or short with a red Indiana University sweatshirt with the word Indiana on the front in white letters.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Sgt. John Borges at 317-346-1142.
