(UNDATED) - Some Indiana clergyman and environmental groups are calling for an end to coal-fired power in Indiana.

They call themselves "Hoosier Interfaith Power & Light." The group along with the Sierra Club held a demonstration and prayer walk outside Indianapolis Power & Light Headquarters on Monument Circle in Downtown Indianapolis Thursday.

Rev. Dennis Shock says they want the Indiana Utility and Regulatory Commission to reject IPL's request to use some of the $511 million in ratepayer funds to upgrade and continue burning coal at its plants on Harding Street in Indianapolis and in Petersburg, Indiana.

He says they want IPL to push harder for alternatives like wind and solar power.
