Bill Would Allow Trained Vets To Obtain Indiana Medic's License

Last updated on Friday, April 5, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A new state law will allow veterans who received emergency medical service training or experience while serving in the military to obtain an Indiana medic’s license.

Gov. Mike Pence signed into law this week the bill that was approved by unanimous votes in both the Indiana House and Senate.

The law specifies that the Emergency Medical Services Commission issue a license or certificate to a military service applicant who meets the necessary requirements and allows the commission to issue temporary license for a veteran working to satisfy the requirements.

Pence says the policy will help Hoosier veterans put their military training and experience to work after returning home.
