(GREENSBURG) - Vandals struck a Greensburg cemetery Monday night, causing extensive damage to 18 headstones.
The vandalism occurred in the oldest section of the South Park Cemetery, 24-Hour News 8's news partner The Greensburg Daily News reports.
The oldest of the damaged headstones dates back to 1836. It is suspected that a group of three or four people were involved due to the weight of the stones.
Repairing the damage will cost between $5,000 and $10,000. Some stones, cemetery officials say, might not be repairable.
