Winter Storm To Hit During Spring Break

Last updated on Saturday, March 23, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Though the calendar says Spring, we have a winter storm system heading toward Indiana.

There is still a lot of uncertainty with this system, but as of Friday afternoon, the National Weather Service was expecting precipitation to begin falling late Saturday night into Sunday morning.

It looks like mainly snow north of Interstate 70, a rain/snow mix south of I-70 to around Bloomington and Columbus, then mainly rain south of Bloomington.

There is a potential for some parts of the area to see 6-10 inches of snow. As of Friday, that looks like it would be mainly north of I-70, with lighter amounts to the south, as more rain will mix in farther south.

Eventually, as colder air moves in late Sunday, all places will see some snow. Any slight change in the path could greatly alter forecast amounts and locations.
