Indiana State Police Need Help Identifying Homicide Victims

Last updated on Wednesday, March 6, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police are asking for help identifying three homicide victims whose bodies were found almost 30 years ago.

Indiana State Police said the three victims were found in October 1983, but might have been missing as long as a year before their bodies were discovered.

Victim 1

Victim 1 was a white male between the ages of 17 and 23, and he was found in Newton County, a half mile north of State Road 10 on the west side of US 41 in Lake Village, police said.

Investigators said the victim was between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall and had "light to normal muscularity for a young adult male."

He was found wearing 30x30 brown pants, brown ankle-high fleece boots in size 10 1/2, Jockey brand underwear and two tube socks -- one with black and red stripes and one with red and blue stripes, officials said.

The victim had two tattoos on his right forearm -- described as a jail-type modified cross and a modified rectangle.

Investigators said Victim 1 might be from central or southwestern Indiana, eastern Illinois or Kentucky.

Victim 2

Victim 2 was also found in Newton County, a half mile north of State Road 10 on the west side of US 41 in Lake Village, police said.

Victim 2 was a black male between the ages of 15 and 18 who was 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall with normal muscularity.

Investigators said he might have last been seen near Terre Haute between State Road 63 and US 41.

He was wearing a white T-shirt, Levi's jeans with a stretch belt, pajama bottoms with a 27-inch inseam, size 34 boxer shorts, black fleece-lined suede boots by Hush Puppy and white tube socks -- one with red and blue stripes and one with blue and yellow stripes.

The stretchy belt had the word "Devil" in red on the band, and the gold buckle said, "JEANS."

Victim 3

Victim 3, a white male between the ages of 20 and 22, was found in Rensselaer off County Road 100 West, a quarter of a mile south of Bunkum Road, police said.

Investigators said Victim 3 had reddish shoulder-length hair and was between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slight build.

He might have last been seen on US 41 near Vincennes, police said.

Victim 3 was wearing Levi's jeans, tennis shoes and a gray hooded sweatshirt, and he might have had a lighter with the name "Arlene" on it.
