Former Terre Haute Mayor Airlifted After Crash

(PUTNAM COUNTY) - Former Terre Haute Mayor Judy Anderson was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital Sunday evening and is being treated after a car accident that claimed the life of her husband.

The Putnman County Coroner confirms Brent Anderson, the husband of former Mayor Judy Anderson has died as a result of that crash.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department says the Andersons were traveling west on U.S. 40 near Reelsville in a Lincoln Town Car.

Mr. Anderson somehow traveled off the roadway and slammed into a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Judy Anderson served as Terre Haute's Mayor from 2000 to 2004.
