Woman Ordered To Repay FBI And Sherrif's Department After Making Up Threats

(HAUBSTADT) - A Gibson County woman has been ordered to repay the FBI and the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office for their costs while investigating threats she fabricated.

35-year-old Emily Snipes, of Haubstadt admitted sending violent and sexually explicit threats to herself and co-workers, making them appear to be from an unknown stalker.

The threats began in February of 2012. Tuesday, in U.S. District Court, Snipes pled guilty to making a false statement.

In addition to reimbursing the FBI and Gibson County, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Young, also sentenced Snipes, who is married and the mother of two children, to two years of probation and ordered her to pay a $10,000 fine.
