Website Helps Hoosiers Track Savings Goals

Last updated on Wednesday, February 27, 2013

(WEST LAFAYETTE) - This week is America Saves week, and Purdue University is part of the effort to help people start saving and paying off debt.

The website IndianaSaves.org has been launched by Purdue Extension specialists in the university's Department of Consumer Science.

Dr. David Evans, the coordinator for the project, says the free web site not only contains tips on how to save, it also has interactive features allowing you to set specific goals.

Evans says you can also get personalized help from a Purdue Extension financial specialist, as well as reminder emails from America Saves on your goals. He says we tend to forget about long term financial goals without frequent reminders, which is why they wanted Indiana Saves to be more than just an information site.

the website is tied to the national America Saves campaign, which Evans says is designed to not only help people save, but to help them pay down debt..
