Sellersburg Traffic Stop Nets Drug Arrest

(SELLERSBURG) - A state troop er making a traffic stop for a driver sending text messages discovered drugs and cash inside the vehicle.

The trooper noticed the driver of a blue Ford pickup truck texting while driving south on Interstate 65 near Sellersburg. The driver left the roadway several times while texting, leading to the traffic stop.

Sensing something was not right with the driver during the stop, troopers searched the vehicle and located several controlled substances, including Hydrocodone, Xanax, Opana and Alprazolam. The troopers also discovered a hypodermic needle and more than $1,400 in cash.

Police arrested 27-year-old Johnnie Sizemore of Austin, Indiana at the scene. He was charged with a total of nine felony counts related to drug dealing and possession, a felony charge of possession of a hypodermic needle, a felony count of maintaining a common nuisance and a texting while driving infraction.

He is being held at the Clark County Jail, pending his initial court appearance.
