Last updated on Monday, February 18, 2013

(ROACHDALE) - Authorities say three people were killed in an early morning house fire in a small town about 40 miles west of Indianapolis.

WRTV6 reports that the Roachdale Fire Department received a call about a house fire about 6 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of East Railroad Street.

Firefighters found three victims, a man and two women, inside. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

"They were good people, you know. The friend of the friend of the one I went to school with, the friend of mine, he'd help anybody. He was just a real nice guy," said friend and landlord Daniel Asher.

The identity of the deceased individuals is pending, but is thought to be the occupants of the residence.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department said foul play is not suspected.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
