Last updated on Saturday, January 19, 2013

(PUTNAM COUNTY) - Three people arrested on charges of marijuana possession also had fake government documents from Mexico.

Indiana State Police Trooper Jonathan Cumbie arrested three men early Friday morning after clocking a car going 13mph over the speed limit on I-70. When Cumbie started his pursuit of the rented 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, he noticed a red can being thrown out of the car.

Further investigation found a small amount of marijuana in the red can, said to be less than 30 grams.

It was then discovered that two of the three people in the car had fraudulent Mexico government documents, although police didn't clarify what kind of government documents they'd recovered. The three were taken into custody and are in the Putnam County Jail.
