Last updated on Sunday, January 6, 2013

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after multiple shots were fired inside an Indianapolis mall Friday night, police said.

Chance Walser, of TheIndyChannel.com reports, witnesses told police at least four or five shots rang out in Lafayette Square Mall just before 7 p.m.

Mall security footage showed a thin black male in dark clothing standing near the center of the mall. He pulled out a gun and began shooting at an unknown target.

No one was injured in the shooting, but the area was crowded with many people including children.

A 15-year-old boy was later found outside the mall carrying several live .22-caliber rounds, and a .22-caliber revolver containing six empty shell casings was found near the teen, police said.

The boy was arrested on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness, possession of a handgun with no license and dangerous possession of a handgun by a minor.

Three other men, ranging in age from 17 to 20, were detained by police after they were found in a car in the mall parking lot with a rifle in plain view, police said.

Toy guns were also found in the vehicle, police said.

The men were released but the rifle was confiscated.
