Columbus Man Back On The Street After Being Accused Of Killing Toddler

Last updated on Wednesday, January 2, 2013

(COLUMBUS) - 30-year-old Thomas Gorski, of Columbus, suspected in the death of a toddler is back on the streets.

The Bartholomew County Jail says Gorski bonded out December 28. According to jail officials, Gorski's bond was $260,000. He only had to pay 10 percent of that amount to be freed.

Gorski was arrested November 28, just three days after his live-in girlfriend's son was found dead in the home they shared inside of Candlelight Village Mobile Home Park.

On November 25, authorities were called to the home after the lifeless body of 19-month-old Evan Jack McCue was found by his mother, 21-year-old Rachel McCue.

The toddler was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Preliminary autopsy results indicated that the toddler died from a head injury.

Gorski faces charges of neglect of a dependent resulting in death as well as a number of felony drug charges. A plea hearing for Gorski has been set for April 1.
